Former Bama receiver John Metchie III saw limited action in yesterday's Texans-Colts game, days after being cleared to play- 14 months after he wondered if he would ever play again.

John Metchie III did what it took to come back from his ACL injury suffered in the 2021 SEC Championship Game- and after being drafted by the Texans in the spring of 2022, the sky was the limit.
But when John heard in July of 2022 that he had leukemia, he wondered if his football career was over.

John worked hard over the last 14 months, and his hard work paid off when days ago he was promoted to the Texans' active roster.

It was yesterday when John Metchie played in his first NFL game- he caught a pass that went for 17 yards.
After the game, John told ESPN:

"Those moments I went through and that time I went through taught me that you can have those (difficult) things, but just as long as the sun comes out tomorrow and you're there for it, you're going to be all right. And you get to show up again."

John Metchie III showed up again on Sunday, catching only one pass.
But that one catch marked one of the biggest comebacks in the NFL.
