"We had one literacy center. It was primarily to educate adolescent boys from rural villages where the schools had been destroyed. After a season, the girls came to us and said, 'What about us? We want to be educated, too.' Now we have 15 literacy centers. Over 90% of the enrollees are women. To date, 4,000 people have completed the curriculum. I love work that helps uplift women in particular. If the children see that Mom loves education, they are motivated to continue their learning."

"I want to live my life to the fullest. I don't want to regret all the things I didn't do. As long as I'm not hurting anybody else, then I'm at peace with my decisions and shame has no hold over me."
