Quick Strike Acquisition Fund Applications are now live as well!

The Quick Strike Fund helps nonprofit CDCs and neighborhood-focused organizations secure critical properties in Cincinnati neighborhoods to preserve housing, catalyze redevelopment, and advance long-term neighborhood plans.

Funding can support:
• Real property acquisition
• Eligible costs like appraisals, title reports, and environmental assessments
• Strategic site control, even when immediate development isn’t yet feasible

Applicants must have a valid purchase option or purchase agreement and pass the City of Cincinnati Income Tax Department’s Good Standing review.

Applications are on a rolling acceptance basis until funds are expended.

Join the Stephen S. Smith Center at Xavier University for a timely conversation on the affordable housing crisis and its implications for Cincinnati and beyond. This public event will bring together alumni, educators, community leaders, policymakers, and students to explore one of the most pressing civic and economic issues facing our region: how rising housing costs, zoning decisions, and public policy shape where and how people can live.

The free program will include a continental breakfast and networking, remarks from Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval on affordable housing in the city, a panel on Cincinnati housing, zoning, and the Green Cincinnati Plan, and a luncheon address by Professor Bryan Caplan, author of Build, Baby, Build on the broader affordable housing crisis in the United States.

If your property has experienced sewer backup or significant water in your basement, you can report it to the Metropolitan Sewer Department (MSD) at (513) 352-4900 or online via the link in our bio. You must report your backup within 48 hours of discovery to be potentially eligible for reimbursement of damages.

Legal Aid serves as the Ombudsman for the MSD Sewer Backup program. If you have questions about filing a claim, cleaning services, prevention, or filing a Request to Review, please call the Ombudsman Office Line at (513) 362-2801.

Today, the City of Cincinnati activated a hotline for residents and business owners who were impacted by flash flooding on July 17 and July 21 and have not yet contacted Metropolitan Sewer District. Please call (513) 323-7995 to speak with a representative.

The City has already contacted the 40 properties that may have been impacted from the Duck Creek Floodgate not closing. If you are one of those property owners, please call the phone number provided to you if you have not already done so.

City staff continue to work with urgency to gather necessary information from residents impacted by the flood to complete the intake and review process. We expect residents who qualify will begin to receive checks within the next few weeks.
