Glad we could help, and very happy that there were no injuries!

At 09:18 today units from Green Township Fire & EMS were dispatched to the 6700 block of Harrison Avenue for a fire alarm activation. While responding, units were advised that the whole apartment building was full of smoke, so the incident was upgraded to a building fire response. Engine 53 arrived, located a working fire in a second floor apartment and performed an aggressive interior attack, declaring the fire under control at 09:33. Thanks to our mutual aid partners from Miami Township Fire & EMS, Cheviot Fire Department, Whitewater Township Fire Department, and Colerain Township Fire Department for the assistance. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters; however, one dog died as a result of the smoke from the fire. The cause is under investigation, but is not considered suspicious.

🔥 REMEMBER - If you have a lithium-ion battery you believe is damaged or dead, you can safely recycle them at Station 25 (3251 Springdale Rd.).

Colerain Fire is a proud partner of the Cincinnati Recycling & Reuse Hub as an off-site location for its Fire Department Lithium Battery Collection program. Recycling these batteries don't just reduce fire hazards, but it's also better for our environment and safer for sanitation workers who would otherwise be handling damaged lithium-ion batteries.

🖱 For more details on the lithium-ion collection program, please visit the Hub's website at:

Rumpke is reminding customers not to place lithium-ion batteries in the trash or recycling containers at homes and businesses after three load fires over the past week. FULL STORY ⬇️

🎉 Congratulations to FF/P Chris Billups for being named EMS provider of the Year!

🚑 FF/P Billups has been a supervisor medic for about a year and has quickly become an integral part of the crew at Station 25. He has displayed the utmost amount of dedication, pride, and professionalism during his short tenure in this role - earning the respect of his coworkers and the residents of Colerain Township.

What stands out most about FF/P Billups is the compassion and empathy he shows patients on what is often the worst days of their lives. The care he brings to difficult situations as an EMS provider is genuine, and he leaves a lasting, positive impact on the people he encounters everyday.

🚨🚑 Tomorrow is the start of National EMS Week - so we wanted to start out with a simple reminder. Sirens and lights, pull to the right.

When you see or hear a firetruck or ambulance coming your direction, don't panic! Calmly pull to the right or clear the intersection. Remember - it could be a friend or loved one who is in trouble so our firefighter and EMTs need to get there as quickly and safely as possible.

Thank you, Colerain!
