I had an amazing experience last week! It was my first major conference and I was honored to be invited as a new host on the podcast!
Here are some of my key takeaways after spending a week with some of the biggest names in real estate investing:
- There is a mixed bag of opinions on the outlook for many CRE asset classes in the next 12-36 months. It was interesting to hear the the optimistic and pessimistic viewpoints.
-Joe Fairless expressed in his keynote that in an uncertain market (last 12 months) we must focus on the things we can control, and determine our best realistic outcomes (to build the path to achieve this), that is very prevalent in my businesses and investing today.
-The pitch slam was an incredible experience, watching real investors, pitch real deals, was like a shark tank episode on steroids, and the panel invested $600k into those deals. Shoutout to Zach Alms on placing second with his deal!
- The networking and relationships you can build are worth the costs alone. The education aspect was great, but as your gain experience in investing that return diminishes overtime. The biggest value was creating face to face connections with industry leaders I have known from afar for many years. I walked away with new friendships, potential investors, podcast guest, and furthered my relationships with everyone I knew already!
Lastly, if you did not make it Best Ever Conference this year, you need to be there next year. I do not get paid anything for this endorsement, its just a fact. I will make millions of dollars over time from the relationships/experience I gained last week, that is absolutely worth the cost of traveling and admission!
