As “big media” shrinks, local news is stepping up as the community’s go-to source. People want to hear from the voices in their own backyard. It’s exciting to work with Tide Cleaners across Greater Cincinnati, and tell the brand story locally as they rolled out enhanced services and high-tech convenience. Nationally, everyone knows “If it’s gotta be clean, it’s gotta be Tide,” but with this project, it was key to emphasize that the same faces would greet customers visiting their local dry cleaning store.

National Media – what does it take?
A national media placement is lightning in a bottle, taking a brand or business to the next level. When I meet with prospective clients, I’m often asked if they can expect national press. The answer: it depends.
Getting national attention requires a strategic approach and several key elements:
📍Build Your Foundation Locally: A strong portfolio of local media coverage is crucial. It demonstrates your brand’s story and builds credibility before you aim for the national stage.
⏱️Invest Time and Resources: Journalists are bombarded with pitches daily. Effective media outreach requires a lot of time and effort from your hashtag partner. Remember, media coverage is never guaranteed, and a story idea might be picked up months or even a year later.
🤸🏻♀️Embrace Creativity and Flexibility: Crafting compelling narratives is a creative process. To elevate your story for national media, you need to be flexible and adaptable. Journalists focus on newsworthy topics tied to current events and trends.
⚡️Be Prepared to Act Fast: When a journalist shows interest, be ready! Prepare a library of high-resolution images and videos. Also be responsive to requests. Your PR consultant is your liaison and is there to help a client provide concise and timely answers.
