Thank you, The Rachel Maddow Show, for helping us sound the alarm on the psychological terror ICE is inflicting on our Haitian neighbors by covering BOTH of the vigils we organized with our partners. Between Aug. 2 and Aug. 9, a combined 1,200 Ohioans peacefully stood in solidarity and made sure that ICE wouldn't get away with its covert cruelty going unnoticed.

SET YOUR ALARM TO SOUND THE ALARM!
At 7 AM this Sunday, Aug. 9, we are calling on the greater Cincinnati and Northern KY community to join and outside the ICE field office in Blue Ash to support our Haitian neighbors from Springfield, OH, who are arriving for their ICE check-ins. We need to sound the alarm about what ICE is doing, especially now that Temporary Protected Status (TPS) has officially ended for Haitian and Syrian immigrants. We must continue to demand a permanent solution for our neighbors, whose homelands remain unsafe to return to.
Last Sunday, more than 550 concerned community members gathered to bear witness and show solidarity. 8 people eventually emerged from the ICE office shackled with ankle monitors, yet they have not given up hope, and we were told our presence and support was so appreciated.
We will line Malsbary near the intersection of Malsbary and Kenwood. Parking is available at the E.H. Greene Intermediate School, especially for those with limited mobility. You can find more details in our UPDATED participant guide on our website IgnitePeace.org.

Thank you to all who showed up in solidarity for our Haitian neighbors this morning. We will not let this covert cruelty happen in the shadows. We will stand boldly with our neighbors and support them in any way we can. We will not be silent.

IMPORTANT UPDATE! PLEASE SHARE WIDELY!
If you plan to attend the vigil on Sunday, please remember the intent of our gathering is to bear witness, raise awareness, and show support for our Haitian neighbors who are being targeted. For this reason, we are all choosing to show up without confrontation, escalation, or any civil disobedience that could put people arriving for their appointments at risk. They are already experiencing so much fear and anxiety, and the last thing we want to do is add to it.
This urgent and rapidly evolving situation for our neighbors prevented us from permitting this event, but Blue Ash police are aware of the action and plan to work with organizers to communicate and keep all persons safe. We will be relegated to lining the edge of the road/grass so that we are not obstructing traffic.
Please check in with our community safety marshals when you arrive (they will be in yellow vests). We ask that you carpool if possible. Parking is extremely limited, and cars in unauthorized or private areas will be at risk for towing/ticketing. Thank you for helping us ensure this vigil remains safe and peaceful for everyone!

With our Haitian neighbors facing fear and uncertainty after their Temporary Protected Status (TPS) was stripped away from them by this cruel administration, there are many ways we can stand with them in solidarity. Right now, supporting these resources and calling our lawmakers is the best way to show up and speak up.
