This week, our preschoolers learned about how God told Jonah to go to the city of Nineveh, but Jonah didn't do what God said.

Jonah got on a boat and went the other way! But when a big storm threatened the boat, Jonah knew it is because of him. So, he had the men throw him off the boat and into
the water, but God was with Jonah!

God sent a big fish that swallowed Jonah, and for
three days, Jonah was safe in the belly of the fish, where he prayed and talked to God.

We can always pray to God, just like Jonah, because God is always with us.

Yesterday, we had the joy of celebrating these beautiful families as they dedicated themselves to raising their little ones to know, love, and grow in the Lord. 💕

What a beautiful commitment to make and a precious reminder of the blessing and responsibility of guiding these little hearts in faith.

We are so grateful to walk alongside these families as they nurture, encourage, and point their children toward Jesus.

This week, our elementary kids learned that in order to hear God’s voice and grow strong, we need to stay close to Jesus in everything that we do.

As we see in the story of Adam and Eve, we were created for friendship with God, and God wants to stay close to us, even when we’ve done wrong things.

And then in John 15:1-11, Jesus said, I am the vine, and you are the branches.’ A branch stays alive and grows when it stays connected to the vine. That’s where it gets everything it needs.

When Jesus said this, He was teaching that He is our source. He is the One who gives us what we need to grow and begin to show things like love, joy, and patience. But there are a lot of other voices around us every day. Voices that try to tell us what matters most, what we should do, or how we should live. Sometimes those voices can be loud and distracting.

Jesus invites us to stay connected to Him instead. When we stay close to Jesus – when we listen to His words, talk to Him, and remember what is true – we start to recognize His voice more clearly. We begin to want the things He wants. And over time, our lives begin to show it. We don’t have to try to grow all on our own. Growth happens when we stay connected to Him.

What is one way your family can get closer to God this week in order to hear His voice better? Ask your kids!

Yesterday our preschoolers learned about how Joseph’s older brothers did’t like Joseph’s special coat or his dreams, so they sent Joseph far away to Egypt, where he started working for a very important man. Joseph did well and was put in charge of the man’s whole house.

But someone told a lie about Joseph, and he was put in jail. But then Joseph helped Pharaoh understand that his strange dream meant that a famine was coming! Pharaoh could see that God was with Joseph, so he put Joseph in charge of Egypt to help them prepare.

Through all the ups and downs, God was with Joseph wherever he went and helped him in everything he did. And God is always with our preschoolers too!

Our elementary kids have been learning how we can hear from God - through His word, through worship, and through prayer.

On Sunday, our elementary kids explored how the best way to listen for God’s voice is to read His Word. We discovered how Scripture is God-breathed and valuable for every part of life.

Your kiddo also brought home a sheep tattoo to put on to help remind them to memorize our memory verse this month :)

Yesterday our preschoolers learned about Hagar and her son, Ishmael. They had run out of water in the middle of a hot desert, and it became a desperate situation.

But an angel called out to Hagar, telling her that God had heard her son crying. God showed Hagar a well where she was able to get water for her son. God saw Hagar, and He heard Ishmael.

God hears us too, because God is always with us!
