🌸WOW FUN FLOWER FACT: These “flowers” get better with the cold! ❄️

Ever notice that ornamental cabbage and kale start out looking mostly green in a fresh fall planting? Just wait! 👀

As temperatures cool, their centers begin to color up, revealing beautiful shades of white, pink, purple, and red. The cooler it gets, the more intense those colors become — often taking a few weeks to reach their full vibrancy. 🍂✨

And here's the really WOW part: Once established, ornamental cabbage and kale can tolerate temperatures down to around 5°F! 🥶 Making them some of the toughest plants in our fall arrangements.

So if your fresh fall planting looks a little green at first, don't worry! The cooler weather is just getting started — and so is the color. 🌿➡️💜

💗 Tomorrow marks the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

October is a reminder to take care of yourself and encourage the women in your life to do the same. Schedule your recommended screenings, talk with your doctor, start a conversation with someone you love, and consider supporting a local breast cancer fundraiser or event.

🌸At WOW Windowboxes, Bret is doing his part by participating in the American Cancer Society’s Men Wear Pink campaign. In fact, he'll be downtown on Fountain Square today from 11am-1pm for Paint the Square Pink! 💕

If you’d like to support Bret’s fundraising efforts, you can make a donation through his campaign. Every contribution helps support the American Cancer Society’s work in the fight against breast cancer. 💗

Let’s think pink, start conversations and make a difference.

🐿️🎃Don't let your fall planting double as a buffet! 🥬🦌

Love your pumpkins, mums, and cabbages? Unfortunately, the neighborhood squirrels and deer are pretty fond of them too. 😅 Here are a few tips to keep our forest friends from turning your windowboxes and planters into their personal salad bar:

🏡 Help Bethany House create a path home. 💜

Bethany House Services works to support families experiencing homelessness in Greater Cincinnati, providing emergency shelter and services that help families move toward stability and permanent housing. The need is real, and events like the Welcome Home Bash help make this important work possible.

This year’s Bash takes place on Thursday, October 16th at the American Sign Museum. WOW Windowboxes is proud to contribute a 6-foot windowbox package to the auction. Bid on it for your home or business and help support Bethany House at the same time!🌸

🎟️ Tickets are still available if you’d like to join us for an evening of food, fun, community and giving.

And you don’t have to attend to make a difference! The silent auction is already LIVE, and you can start bidding now — even if you can’t make it to the Bash.

Every bid and every ticket helps support Bethany House and the families working toward a place to call home. 💚

🌸☀️ One WOW. Four seasons.🍂❄️

One of the things we love most about what we do? There’s always a new season to WOW.

Spring brings fresh color and cheerful blooms. Summer turns up the volume with lush, heat-loving flowers. Fall brings rich colors, texture and harvest-inspired designs. And winter? That’s when we trade blooms for beautiful greens, magnolia, berries, pinecones and more.

With WOW’s seasonal planting service, your windowboxes and planters are never an afterthought. We handle the transitions, so your home or business has something beautiful to look forward to in every season. 🌿

And the best part? Our automatic drip irrigation system delivers optimal moisture levels to your plants, ensuring beautiful blooms without any effort on your part. 💚
