When owner Alex Boateng launched Chàle Box earlier this year, he brought a bold cross-cultural concept to the Findlay Kitchen family. The business centers on “jollof arancini”—crispy West African rice bites inspired by traditional Italian arancini, and a deep focus on building community. Alex notes, "Chàle in my home language means friend... that's how I treat my business. Our customer service is very important to me."

Alex’s menu is rooted in Ghanaian, Italian, and Caribbean influences, shaping inventive menu items anchored by bold fusion flavors. The current crowd favorite, the "Boss Man," features a jollof rice bite topped with Guinness-braised short ribs, green onion, signature chàle sauce, and parmesan cheese. Describing the concept's origins, the founder shared, "I always knew that I was going to do something with food, so when I came up with the concept, it was like all the moments in my life were for this."

Behind the business is a tight-knit crew of family and friends handling prep, media, and market logistics. Following a surge in momentum since their first setup at Findlay Market’s Outdoor Market in May, Alex notes how helpful Findlay Kitchen has been in navigating the growth: "The Kitchen, they’ve been so great, I'm happy to have them in my corner."
