We have some exciting new faces in the office! Please join us in welcoming our two new Green Umbrella fellows, Sam Gielink and Roseline Yoni, who will be working with us this summer on the Hamilton County Sustainability Plan. Sam and Roseline bring incredible energy and passion for regional sustainability, and we are so excited to have their support as we move our climate and environmental goals forward. Welcome to the Hamilton County ReSource team!

ReSource is excited to join our fellow Hamilton County departments at the new Central Campus — a space designed to strengthen collaboration, improve access to services, and better serve our community. By sharing this campus with Hamilton County Public Health, Environmental Services, Job and Family Services, Veterans Service Commission, Developmental Disabilities Services, the Office of Addiction Response, and the Regional Crime Information Center, we have an even greater opportunity to work together across departments to support residents, communities, businesses, and schools in meaningful ways. This move also reflects a commitment to a more sustainable future through smarter operations, shared resources, and a modern campus built for long-term community impact. We’re proud to be part of this next chapter for Hamilton County.

As the school year wraps up, we’re celebrating schools making sustainability part of everyday learning. This year, Cincinnati Country Day School became one of the first schools to earn the 513 Green certification. In this Q&A, they share how sustainability efforts are impacting their school community, the project they’re most proud of, and advice for schools considering the 513 Green journey. From composting and reusable materials to pollinator gardens and student-led green spaces, Cincinnati County Day shows that every step toward sustainability matters. Last week, our team headed to North Carolina for the ReFED Food Waste Solutions Summit, and we came back incredibly inspired! From large-scale food rescue and farm gleaning to at-home waste reduction and composting, we explored how every layer of the food system can drive real change. Our team is fired up and ready to put these ideas into action!
