Higher temperatures and higher humidity.... oh boy, here we go with that real summer weather!

Heat index values will be around 100 degrees this afternoon. We won't see much rain today but if you do get an isolated storm... it will be a torrential downpour.

Otherwise.. get ready to sweat!!

Again, we are looking at the chance for scattered showers and storms. but this isn't a guarantee for rain in every single town. This will be hit or miss activity. If you do get a thunderstorm, get ready for a big downpour!

A must do, every trip to the Red River Gorge. Natural Bridge. The view from the top is fantastic. I should have grabbed a photo below looking up… but I was too busy catching my breath!

Hiking goal achieved!! I’ve always wanted to do Indian Staircase at the Red River Gorge, I just needed Conner to be a little bit older. Well… it was time this summer. This isn’t an official trail, but super popular with hikers. We used All Trails app to guide us. At one point, we weren’t sure where to go. A fellow hiker said… up!! Up a rock face we went. The next step was the actual Indian staircase and it was a bear crawl up the rock face. We continued from the top and kept going around the ridge line, eventually looking back at the rock face that we climbed. It looked so much steeper than what we experienced.

Would I do it again?? Heck yes! It’s not an easy hike for multiple reasons. But both kids managed just fine; Conner got a little worn out at the end.

So incredibly proud of our Good Morning Tri-State team… we are nominated for a regional Emmy! We’ll find out if we won or not toward the end of July.

Guess it’s time to get a fancy dress ready for a night of fun in Louisville for the awards ceremony.

Heads up for Saturday! Storms return to the area and we have a low end threat for severe storms. At this point, the day is not expected to be a total washout and activity should be isolated. But due to rising heat and humidity, a few storms could pack a punch. WCPO 9

It was very faint as expected, but some people did indeed see the auroras last night! Bob Grooms in Milford captured these photos around midnight.
