Happy Father's Day! 💙

Today we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, mentors, coaches, and father figures who faithfully show up, lead with love, and make a lasting impact on the lives around them.

At BLOC, we've seen firsthand how a caring father figure can change the trajectory of a life—offering guidance, encouragement, stability, and hope. Thank you to the men who invest in their families, neighborhoods, churches, and communities each day.

We also recognize that Father's Day can be difficult for some. Whether you're grieving, longing, healing, or navigating a complicated relationship, we see you and pray that you experience the comfort and love of our Heavenly Father today.

"The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice; he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him." — Proverbs 23:24

Happy Father's Day from all of us at BLOC Ministries.

Today we honor Juneteenth—a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, and hope.

At BLOC Ministries, we believe every person is created in the image of God and worthy of dignity, love, and belonging.

"Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." — 2 Corinthians 3:17

May we continue building communities where hope is restored, relationships are strengthened, and every person has the opportunity to flourish.

BLOC got to be part of a Juneteenth event at 2020 Juvenile Detention Center last week. And one part of it was producing the audio and video for this piece that two of the residents there wrote and performed!! Such an honor to be a part of this!

✨MEET THE TEAM: BEN✨

I grew up outside of the Church and after an adolescent and teenage era filled with the pursuit of playing music, partying, and being involved in the dark underbelly of the suburbs, Jesus dramatically saved my life in the beginning of my young adult years. From there, I met my amazing wife White, and a gradual calling into full on urban ministry and mission work unfolded as our three daughters Charlotte (13), Brooklyn (10), and Madison (4) came into the world.

After my 9 & 1/2 years of being involved in the leadership of an urban Church plant in Akron Ohio came to an end, my wife got a job offer with Channel 19 News in Cincinnati as a lifestyle reporter. As a family we felt led to come to Cincinnati in August of 2025, leaning into the Lord by faith for where our kids would go to school and the work I’d do. I only knew I wanted to do urban music ministry outreach. Through much prayer from many people and circumstances beyond us our kids got accepted into Cincinnati School of Creative & Performing Arts, and we ended up moving into Price Hill. Then I ended up being connected with BLOC to do urban music ministry outreach! It’s truly amazing how the Holy Spirit led us through the transition!

I came on board with BLOC as the IDEA music program leader for an afterschool program, and I also lead a music studio program at the 2020 Juvenile Detention Center in Cincy. I’m in the midst of pioneering a neighborhood music studio program, and I’ve been able to help BLOC with worship ministry wherever needed. I’m so grateful to be a part of BLOC's ministry and community!

I have a sense of humor about as dry as the Sahara desert. I love playing, creating, and recording music- I play guitar, bass, and drums, I sing, and I produce beats. I love to work out. I love to charcoal grilling and chilling. I love to scour the city for the best burger and breakfast food joints. I love documentary movies, reading, writing, hiking, classic rock albums, and coffee. Most of all I love spending quality time with my wife and kids.

✨Meet The Team: Mackenzie✨

Mackenzie Hudson serves as the Programs Director of Horses on the Hill, a ministry dedicated to creating transformative encounters through equine-assisted experiences. She is passionate about introducing people to Christ and seeing lives healed through the love and power of God.

At Horses on the Hill, Mackenzie creates a safe and unique environment where individuals can connect with God through His creation, experience personal growth, and find hope and restoration. She works alongside her husband, Chase, a counselor within the ministry, combining their gifts to support individuals and families on their healing journeys.

Mackenzie's greatest joy is her role as a wife and mother. She and Chase are raising their four-month-old daughter with a heart for mission, teaching her from the very beginning to know and follow Jesus. Together, they are committed to serving their community and helping others encounter the life-changing love of Christ.

No matter what season we face, God remains faithful. Time and time again, He proves that He is our Provider, our Sustainer, and our Source. Even when the path ahead feels uncertain, we can trust that the Lord sees every need before we do and is already at work behind the scenes. His provision may not always come in the way or timing we expect, but it always comes according to His perfect plan. When we keep our eyes on Him, we can rest in the confidence that He will never leave us, never forsake us, and will always come through exactly when we need Him most.

Use Your Accounting Expertise to Help Transform Lives at BLOC Ministries!!

Most people don't think of accounting as a ministry.

But every day, an accurate financial report helps keep the lights on in an after-school program where children find safety and encouragement. Every processed donation helps provide housing for a woman rebuilding her life after trafficking. Every reconciled account helps ensure resources are available for a family visiting our immigrant welcome center, a resident in one of our transitional homes, or a neighbor finding community at our coffee shop.

At BLOC Ministries, we live and work in the neighborhoods we serve. We build relationships with our neighbors and share the hope of Jesus. Through after-school programs, transitional housing, equine therapy, sports ministry, a coffee shop, and outreach initiatives, we seek to love our neighbors and meet people where they are.

As BLOC Ministries Senior Accountant, you may not be the person leading a Bible study, mentoring a resident, or serving coffee across the counter. But your work makes those moments possible.

You will help steward the financial resources entrusted to our ministry by donors, grantors, and community partners. Your attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, and financial expertise will support more than 80 staff members as they serve throughout our programs and neighborhoods.

Behind every transformed life is a team of people making ministry happen. If you are passionate about using your accounting skills to support a mission bigger than yourself, we'd love to meet you.
