For the first month of the season we focused on helping our students understand the science behind correct pelvis and weight placement, students stop forcing the movement— allowing the dancer to work efficiently.

The night before her Nutcracker debut, a young dancer falls asleep dreaming of the world she’s about to enter…

And suddenly, the magic begins.

Coomer Classique presents ’Twas the Night Before Nutcracker — an original Nutcracker-inspired production celebrating the excitement, wonder, and anticipation of a young dancer’s time on stage.

From beloved characters and magical moments to professional choreography, costumes, and sets, this is a performance designed to give dancers of all ages the opportunity to experience the stage and be part of something special.

BALLET BUDS | AGES 3–6

We are jumping for joy because our Ballet Buds classes have officially started.

Ballet Buds introduces young dancers to the structure of a real ballet class—musicality, coordination, positions, movement vocabulary, and the discipline of working together—while keeping the experience age appropriate and engaging.

Classes are offered Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with two annual performance opportunities for dancers who want to take their first steps onto the stage.

Whether ballet is brand new or your dancer is ready for a little more structure, there’s a place for them here.

Ages 3–6 | Enrollment Open

Competition training has begun...

At Coomer Classique competition work is another part of advanced training — a chance to take the technique being developed in the studio and apply it with greater intention, musicality, and performance quality.

The goal isn’t simply to prepare a variation. It’s to develop dancers who can make thoughtful choices, perform with confidence, and bring their training into a different setting.

We have a group of eleven strong dancers preparing for three competitors this year - Universal Ballet Competition, ADC IBC and Youth America Grand Prix. They all have individual goals and are ready to take on the challenge of slow intentional progression. We’re looking forward to seeing where this group takes their work this season.

We are excited to officially introduce our upcoming winter production, Twas the Night Before Nutcracker, taking place December 19, 2026 at Saint Xavier High School.

This production will bring together the artistry and technical training of our dancers in a story inspired by the familiar world of The Nutcracker, while giving our students the opportunity to experience a production that is uniquely Coomer Classique.

Participation forms are available via email or at the studio. For intermediate/advanced dancers enrollment at Coomer Classique is not required to participate. For more information please reach out to [email protected].

THE 2026–27 COMPETITION TEAM

This year, 11 dancers have chosen to add competition training to their advanced ballet education at Coomer Classique.

Competition is an elective component of our advanced program, not a replacement for regular ballet training. Dancers continue their scheduled technique classes while taking on additional coaching and rehearsal requirements throughout the season.

The purpose is to give these dancers another opportunity to apply their technical training in a performance setting, while learning what is required to prepare and present a solo at a high level.

WHAT COMPETITION TRAINING ADDS

Preparing for competitions involves considerably more than learning choreography.

Throughout the season, these dancers will work on individual variations with attention to musicality, épaulement, port de bras, technical ex*****on, performance quality, transitions, and the details that make a variation look complete.

They will also learn how to rehearse independently, receive corrections, make adjustments, and maintain their work over an extended preparation period.

This training is added to their regular advanced ballet schedule and is intended for dancers who are ready for the additional commitment.
