Welcome Home Collaborative

The goal of the Welcome Home Collaborative (WHC) program is to assist our Program Participants in allowing the Holy Spirit to truly transform their lives.

We are a transitional housing program for the homeless, working poor, both individuals and families, who are looking for a second chance in life, and are committed to change and active in our program. Welcome Home Collaborative is a transitional housing program for the homeless, working poor and struggling families, who are looking for a second chance in life, by offering temporary housing in a pr

ogram environment that includes a Life Coach, and other program rules & procedures in order to achieve transformational change. Although WHC offers transitional housing, the main goal of our ministry is actually NOT about housing, but rather, transformational change. This will become a reality in many ways, including adherence to the 18-bullet point WHC Rules & Responsibilities that each Program Participant agrees to upon entry into the program and also in the relationships that are formed while in the program. However, key to transformational change is the bond formed between Life Coach and Program Participant. Using the Arizona Self-Sufficiency Matrix as a guide, the Program Participant and Life Coach work in collaboration together, to yield a Life Plan, which will contain at least ONE (1) long-term SMART goal. The difficult task of the Life Coach is not to do try actually achieve this change for the Program Participant (i.e., “projecting” or trying to “fix” a perceived problem for someone else), but rather, to assist the Program Participant to take the lead on this transformation (more accurately stated, to allow the Holy Spirit to work). WHC uses the master’s level textbook, “Motivational Interviewing” training our Life Coaches to use “MI techniques” in working with Program Participants.

Individual program participants are provided a private sleeping room in a house and share common areas with other program participants. Families are provided apartments or houses.

The program provides tools to help program participants build a solid foundation for life with a two-year program. All Individuals and Family Heads are assigned a trained Life Coach. The engagement of the Life Coach and the creation of a Life Plan are the main keys in helping program participants transform their lives and make real change.

We currently have openings in the Welcome Home Collaborative housing and Life Coaching program for single adult men in Cincinnati. Our program seeks individuals who demonstrate readiness for change and support in a semi-independent living arrangement:

Affordable Housing
Homes located in the Cincinnati area
Private room in a shared living space
Accessible

Life Coach Services
Support of a dedicated life coach
Support of two specialized life coaches focused on financial literacy and social/community skills.

Tasks will include preparing garden spaces, building new raised beds (at the Northside location), planting vegetables and herbs, and general site cleanup.
