1 in 5 adults are diagnosed with a mental health condition, and the odds are even higher for those living with a chronic condition. That’s why we’re continuing to expand behavioral health support across The Christ Hospital Health Network.
Dr. Michelle Box, DSW, LISW-S, Manager of Behavioral Health, joined Jordan Vilines FOX19 on FOX19 during Mental Health Awareness Month to share more about this important work.
As patient needs continue to evolve, so does the role of healthcare providers. Primary care providers often support both the physical and emotional wellbeing of patients, serving as a first point of connection for individuals facing stress, anxiety, depression and other behavioral health concerns.
To better support patients and care teams, Behavioral Health Consultants are integrated across primary care practices throughout our network and now also support patients referred by providers across specialties including cardiology, women’s health, orthopedics and endocrinology. This collaborative approach helps improve access to coordinated, whole-person behavioral health care across our communities.
Patients interested in behavioral health services should speak with their provider for a referral.
