Our free, in-school educational program introduces architecture, engineering, construction and design to students K-8.

The 6th-8th grade Inspired Innovator award goes to Peaceful Paddles Duck Sanctuary, led by Tyler Styons at Wyoming City School and Ali Hubbard with Huseman Group!
The Inspired Innovator award is given to a project that represents comprehensive, thorough, and innovative design ideas.

One of the Distinguished Designer awards goes to Oceanic Underworld, led by Preston Polen at Parker Woods Montessori and Isaiah Chapman with Peck Hannaford & Briggs!
The two Distinguished Designer awards are projects chosen by Design LAB staff.

The 6th-8th grade Juror's Choice award goes to Unicorn Sanctuary, led by Tyler Styons at Wyoming City School and Charlie Jahnigen with SHP!
The Juror's Choice award is given by jurors to an outstanding project in each grade category.

The 6th-8th grade Sustainability Surveyor award goes to Sunset Grove, led by Rena Meyer at Berry Intermediate School and Brad Meyer with TR Gear Landscaping!
The Sustainability Surveyor award is given to a project that demonstrates the best use of sustainable materials and green building solutions.
We are so excited to announce our theme for Design LAB 2027: BRIDGE! Bridges are a fact of life for most people in Cincinnati and Northern KY and are especially top of mind with all of the major projects underway in the area.
In this year's challenge, students will learn the basics of bridge building, but will also be challenged to push the boundaries of what these corridors can look like, who they serve, and how they can solve problems and improve the world around them. We can't wait to see the brilliant ideas students come up with!

The 6th-8th grade Comprehensive Constructor award goes to Our Sanctuary, led by Mason Samantha and Skylar Boeh at the Jeff Wyler Boys and Girls Club and Michelle Mahoney with Merus!
The Comprehensive Constructor award is given to a project that exhibits the most likelihood for real world application and success in meeting client needs.
