We could use your help! We’ve been given the wonderful opportunity to help reshape the garden area at Evanston Academy to be a space for students to learn how to grow, and we could use some extra tools for students to have for the year. If you have any extra tools to share, please consider sharing them with us! You are also welcome to help us as well if you have time Saturday. We appreciate any support 🙏🏿

Rest in Power, Assata Shakur 🖤✊🏿 We honor you and we send our deepest condolences to your family. You sought Black Liberation and was criminalized because of it, but remained dedicated to our freedom while living in whole ‘nother country. We thank you and your family for the sacrifices you made for all of us.

“It is our duty to fight for our freedom. It is our duty to win. We must love and support each other. We have nothing to lose but our chains.”

Power to the people. ✊🏿

Join us Friday as we celebrate with others the life of Demartravion “Trey” Reed. A young man that was found hanging from a tree on the 15th of September in Mississippi. We will never forget you nor forget all of our Black lives that were unfairly taken away from us.

We also will take this time to send our love and support to the family of Trey Reed as they seek the truth and justice for the death of their loved one. We stand in solidarity with you all.

The fight for Black liberation is a fight against ICE and all forms of law enforcement that terrorizes all of our communities. When we stand together, victories can and WILL happen. We say thank you to and all the parties involved for helping to bring him home. Welcome home, Ayman! And while we’re here, free the rest of our people that have been unfairly treated and unfairly locked up by our injustice systems.

Cincinnati, don’t be distracted, City Council just approved more funding to go towards more surveillance and more policing in our communities in the name of “public safety.”

While our Black and Brown communities continue to suffer from the lack of healthy food access, safe and affordable housing/healthcare, and adequate funding to our educational system (CPS just cut 100* teaching/admin positions). These are the real “public safety” initiatives that should be prioritized and funded significantly more.

In a 6-3 vote, the approved funding will be allocated to more policing, license plate readers, drones, 3CDC ambassadors (non law enforcement), FUSUS (a company that our city contracted with to support a “crime center” with active surveillance, look up “connect cincinnati”) and other “safety” measures that will disproportionately impact primarily Black and Brown neighborhoods more than other neighborhoods in Cincinnati.

Vice Mayor Jan Kearney, council members Scottie Johnson and Victoria Parks voted against this proposal.

Cincinnati, don’t be distracted. We have to work to do. Our communities deserve better and we have to demand better. Now is the time to organize with us or organize with a group that is fighting for all of us.
