Yesterday Ride to Eternity had the honor to es**rt Mr. Lloyd “LL” Heckman to his final resting place to Bearcreek Cemetery. The stormy weather was not the best but we did get sunshine near the end of the ride. His daughter Amanda rode with me and shared some amazing stories and memories of her “Daddy” along the route. Special thanks to Rebecca and her staff at Newcomer Funeral Home for the professional job they do.

Lloyd “Double LL” Heckman, departed this life on on April 26, 2026 after a courageous fight with cancer. True to Nordic tradition, he met the foe not with fear but with the spirit of a shield-bearer in battle. Though the enemy was unseen, the victory was in the living and the legacy left behind. Skål to a life well-fought - may the ancestors receive Double LL with open arms in the great hall.

Born on August 12, 1960, Double LL will forever be remembered by all in his life. To his extended family, his true Brothers, Gone But Never Forgotten.

Lloyd was an exceptional athlete, excelling in football, ice hockey, Golden Glove boxing & bull riding. He was a very accomplished scuba diver, and key member of a national championship boat racing team. Lloyd was at his core an entrepreneur, one of his greatest accomplishments being Sundance Enterprises. He was always seizing opportunities and making things happen. Lloyd was a trucker, an expert tree trimmer/climber and astute businessman. He could fix anything and was most at home on the road on his Softail motorcycle.

Double LL’s wit, whether a prank or positive approach to a tough situation was a big part of him. His wisdom was deep and diverse. Lloyd was tough, stubborn and always direct. Most of all Lloyd was fiercely loyal to his family, friends and Brothers.

Lloyd is survived by his daughter Amanda Heckman, his grandsons, Justin Keogh Heckman and Jase Gabriel Michael Heckman, step-children, Anna Smiley, Mason Delgrosso, and Ashley Delgrosso, sister Sharon Adams and his many Brothers. Lloyd was preceded in death by the love of his life, Samantha Delgrosso, life-long friend, Gregory Martin, and his parents, Carl and Edna Heckman.

Double LL will forever be honored and respected by those who continue to celebrate his life.

A little cold weather didnt stop us from also fullfilling a mother’s request by allowing her to ride with me, so she could share in her boys final motorcycle ride. What was for sure today was echoed by all in attendance was that “Tommy would Love this”
