In the words of VitalSolution-Anesthesiology Chief Medical Officer Dr. John Vazquez:
"Congratulations to Dr. Staszkiewicz and Dr. Hanna for their hard work and dedication to improving the anesthesia service line at a critical safety-net Chicago hospital. More than half of practicing cardiologists are over 55. As retirements accelerate over the next decade, the gap between patient demand and physician supply will keep widening.
For cardiologists currently in the field or entering it, that shift has real implications for compensation, job options, and career leverage. Our 2026 General Cardiology Fact Sheet covers the full workforce picture.

Today, we recognize National Healthcare Recruiter Recognition Day and the people who help make care possible behind the scenes.
Healthcare recruiters play a critical role in connecting skilled professionals with facilities that rely on their expertise. At VitalSolution, that work often helps bridge staffing gaps in rural and underserved communities where access to care can be limited.
We are grateful for the dedication, persistence, and care our recruiters bring to supporting clinicians and, ultimately, the patients they serve.

June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community and reflect on how we show up for one another.
In healthcare, feeling seen and respected can influence trust, communication, and overall experience. We're committed to supporting environments where patients receive compassionate, affirming care and where our teams feel empowered to lead with empathy.
Thank you to our colleagues, clinicians, and partners who help create a culture of inclusion every day.
Wishing you a meaningful Pride Month. 🏳️🌈

When Dr. Brad Serwer reviews a patient's bloodwork, the first two numbers he looks at are LDL cholesterol and triglycerides.
Most people know cholesterol matters for heart health, but fewer understand why specific numbers matter or what their own targets should be. Those targets vary based on individual risk factors, and knowing yours makes a real difference.
"Cholesterol is a significant modifiable risk factor for the development of coronary artery disease," says Dr. Serwer, VitalSolution's Chief Medical Officer and interventional cardiologist. "Understanding your cholesterol levels enables you to assess your individual risk and facilitates early intervention, potentially preventing or mitigating future complications."
Dr. Serwer recently spoke with PARADE Magazine about what cardiologists look for in lab results, and what patients can do to get their numbers in a healthier range through diet, exercise, and when necessary, medication.

Nearly half of American adults have high blood pressure. Most don't know it.
Hypertension rarely causes symptoms, which is why it's often called the "silent killer." By the time most people find out they have it, it may have already been quietly damaging their heart, arteries, and kidneys for years.
"Hypertension poses a significant risk for the development of cardiovascular diseases, including heart attacks, strokes, and congestive heart failure," says Brad Serwer, MD, FACC, FSCAI, VitalSolution's Chief Medical Officer and interventional cardiologist. "Hypertension is treatable, and early interventions can significantly reduce the likelihood of these devastating conditions."
The most important thing you can do is know your numbers. A blood pressure reading takes less than two minutes and can change the trajectory of your health.
