Mary the mother of Jesus faced most if not all the situations you mention of women with an unplanned pregnancy. God chose to come into humanity as a fetus - and brought respect and holiness to that state of life. How glorious, how wonderful. How glorious and wonderful Mary cooperated with God - that is what pregnant women are called to. Carry this holiness - what a calling.

Having an abortion does not take away the memory that a woman has been pregnant - we as a society would advance humanity by supporting these women - so they don't have to experience another trauma (that of abortion) and live a full life as God intended.

Our Lady of Lourdes feast day - Why is the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes also the World Day of the Sick?

In 1993, Pope John Paul II decided to establish the World Day of the Sick on the feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes. Some people tried to dissuade him from choosing 11th February: “In the northern hemisphere, it's too cold! In the southern hemisphere, it's too hot!”

But it proved impossible to dissuade him, as John Paul II was very aware of the very special significance of Lourdes in the hearts of so many sick people. He recognised the welcome and service reserved for them; the comfort and peace that everyone finds at the Grotto where Mary revealed herself as the Immaculate Conception, the perfect harmony of body and soul.

Mary, Our Lady of Lourdes,
we turn to you,
with our hearts full of trust.

You who appeared to Bernadette
in the hollow of the rock of Massabielle on 11th February 1858,
to reveal your name to her and guide her to your Son,
give us the grace to keep the Faith,
to persevere in Hope and to live in Love.

In these difficult times for the world,
help us, Mother of all grace, woman of hope,
on our on-going journey on the path of the Gospel.

May your protection allow us to glimpse,
in the midst of these testing times,
the radiant signs of the presence of God in our lives.

We especially commend to you those
who are suffering and worried,
who feel weak and without hope.

We pray for those we love
and those we do not love enough.

We entrust to you the Church and her clergy,
that Christ will always be the foundation stone on which they lean
to announce the Good News of Salvation.

Day 7: Expectant Fathers May expectant fathers lovingly support the mothers of their children in welcoming new life.

when we resolve to providing compassionate care for each pregnant woman with an unexpected pregnancy - we move to improve both lives. Day 6 novena

Day 6: Expectant Mothers May every expectant mother receive compassionate care and support as she nurtures the life in her womb.
