Excellence Math and Science Tutoring

Excellence Math and Science Tutoring provides one-on-one tutoring to help students perform their best in math and science. I have experience as a classroom teacher in middle school math and science, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, AP Statistics, AP Calculus, PSAT/SAT prep and all levels of Physics.

I’m here to help students struggling to pass classes and students who need more support to excel in honors and college level classes.

Tutoring will be tailored to the individual needs of students and may include:
~Homework Assistance
~Extra Practice
~Test Review and Preparation
~Reteaching
~Home school support

Rates:
~First Hour $30
~Ongoing tutoring $60 per hour

Locations:
~Your home (Parent must be present)
~Schertz Public Library

Cancellation Policy:
Appointments may be canceled up to 48 hours (2 days) in advance with no fee or charge.

Cancelled appointments that are rescheduled within the same week (Monday-Sunday) will not have any additional fees or charges.

Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will still be billed the normal hourly rate for the appointment.

About David Garcia:
I understand how stressful it can be for students and families to struggle with math or science classes. I love helping students reach their full potential by helping them understand math and science and I’m passionate about how fun and interesting math and science can be. I hold a B.S. in Physics from U.C. Irvine, an M.Ed. from Trinity University and I’m credentialed in Texas to teach 8-12 Math and 8-12 Physical Science. I taught math and science for 23 years and was a science curriculum director for 2 years.

I believe all students can learn and that with help they can reach academic excellence. When I work with students, I let them know that I care about their success and I will find what they are good at and build skills from there. I understand how skills are taught and explained by teachers and can reteach and reinforce those techniques or offer an alternative approach if needed.

After students work with me I want them to have more confidence in their abilities, better study skills, readiness for the next grade level or course they will take, and to know that they are respected for who they are.
