Made some minor changes to my room…

🧁New birthday board (that has to fit ALL of the fifth graders in the school)
🪩New mirror with new affirmations

I’m nowhere near completely finished, but I’m happy with what I’ve gotten done!

In the spring I cleaned out and purged TONS of things I no longer needed- so that has saved me some time!

Looking forward to this new school year. This will be my 22nd year, and this year teaching only math and science! And im hoping to have a former student (she’s a senior this year) spend some time helping out in my classroom!

Summer school ✔️
The last time I taught summer school is when I was pregnant with Ellary (back when I taught 3rd grade)! The last time I taught this age group (incoming 3rd graders) was 13 years ago!! They were silly, funny, full of energy and lots of stories!! I had so much fun with them, and also my own kids putting in some community service hours and hanging out with mom! 💕

Currently, we are reading The Indian in the Cupboard in 5th grade! I try to read it every year - even when I taught 3rd grade! I think the only classes I didn’t get to read it to were my Covid shutdown ones.

Started doing a novel study with two of my groups today….let’s just say the title speaks for itself!! I think they might jump on the bandwagon of who can be quieter! Hoping this works to my advantage… including making learning fun!
