We have a new fund to announce. The Chico A.R.T. Collective Support Fund here at NVCF was created for raising funds to support local artists by acquiring the needed tools, materials and talent funding to improve art opportunities. These funds will help artists enhance, share and experience their current and new forms of art in ways that give support to our community. The Chico A.R.T. Collective also will be working with various businesses, schools and programs to assess the needs of our community in the arts and help alleviate these needs to enhance community engagement and positivity through learning and experiencing the arts in new ways. Anyone remember Uncle Dad’s Small Town Big Sound? It was local bands playing their originals with a full back-up orchestra. Amazing concept, event, and album that Uncle Dad's Art Collective did for 3 years I believe. There was an amazing show at Sierra Nevada Big Room for the 3rd one and artists like: Pat Hull, Katie Barrett, Shigemi, Scout, Michael Bone and more had their originals turned into spectaculars. This was one of my favorites from the album -the Chico alt-noise band Viking Skate Country's song "Distortion" was turned into this.

As for the video it is just various stuff pulled from my phone around that time to showcase the song.

Guess what is happening on Saturday?

Yes, it is another Get Foxy Production with special guests from other places Phantom Falls, Asleep Awake, Weapons of Jones and Follow Me Dark!

This is by far the most slammin, lit-fire show this month and since it's free no reason not to attend unless under 21.

Come downtown and then down underground to one of the hottest nightspots around. There will be great food/drinks available, a new young band doing their 2nd show, a group of veteran musicians who formed a new band and two bands I guarantee you have probably not seen yet but need to.

See you Saturday at 8pm!
