Aerodynamics always matter - doesn’t matter where you are 😎

We have heard the comparison between the SL7 and the new Crux 5 but side by side it appears to have more in common with the SL8. We are curious if this could also be pointing at where the Tarmac SL 9 may be headed…

What are your thoughts?

Same name. Different bike. The new Crux 5 is a ground-up redesign - and it is exactly what was missing in the Specialized line up.

With a claimed 55mm clearance we were curious what we could actually fit inside this frame. We mounted some 2.4” Conti Dubnitals to the wheels and they do clear. Now we surely would not recommend riding on them, however, we are quite impressed with this bike so far.

With the launch of the new Crux, Specialized has taken a complete ground up approach on the new bike. Now boasting, integrated cables, aerodynamic tubes, and massive tire clearance to achieve an outstanding racing platform.

The biggest surprise here has to be with keeping the Crux name, because that seems to be the only thing that is similar to the old platform. And while this is almost a completely new bike, it is exactly what the brand needed - a true modern racing weapon 😎
