In the WHO African Region, roughly 20% of children under five still lack access to basic, life-saving vaccines.

That gap can leave families vulnerable to preventable diseases. 🌍

In Cameroon, illuminAid helped address this gap. Alongside the Peace Corps, participants learned to create local health education videos on vaccination and malaria prevention. Participants also received cameras, cordless projectors, and solar-powered recharge kits, helping them bring trusted health messages directly to communities with limited access to electricity or internet. 🎥☀️

Because trusted information can help protect lives. 💛

The World Health Organization estimates that by 2030 only 78% of the global population will have basic handwashing facilities.

For rural communities in places like Burkina Faso, that gap can put families at serious risk. 🧼🌍

That is why illuminAid is here to help.

In partnership with Catholic Relief Services in Burkina Faso, illuminAid trained 18 local educators and CRS staff to create and share hygiene-focused videos on critical WASH practices.

With camera kits, cordless projectors, and recharge kits, local teams can bring lifesaving health information directly to remote communities — even where electricity and internet access are limited. 🎥

Because when communities have the tools to teach and protect themselves, knowledge becomes action. 💛

In northern Nigeria, a World Bank study found that aspirational video screenings reduced the number of out-of-school children by 42%. Parents’ attitudes also began to change, with higher aspirations for their children’s education and shifting norms around early marriage.
