For me to write a review about this DVD and have someone read it is an opinion based on experience and an emotional side for a die-hard fan might be lost through interpretation of what I have seen as a person who is not the biggest Christian Death fan, but knows a fu***ng brilliant show when I see/hear it. No matter if I have seen some version of the band 45+ times before Rozz's death in 2001?.
The DVD features 2 original members(Rikk Agnew & James McGearty) plus Eva O on vocals, she was married to Rozz and did the 89-90 Reunion Tour as a backing vocalist. The DVD is a multi-cam pro vid shot for the 25th Only Theatre of Pain Anniversary show and the audio is fu***ng amazing, this is basically the first record live for you few who are new to this band. Each song is a tribute to Rozz Williams in only the way Eva O can do and thats with all of her blackend heart. She belts out each lyric with an impure lusting voice that knew Rozz's soul intimately. The musician side propels her forward and rocks the f**k out. No bu****it here, if you are a Christian Death fan you need this in your collection. Rikk plays like a demon on coffee with guitar sounds only he can come up with and James bass playing is spot fu***ng on. F**k all arguements about the Rozz/Valor eras, this is an honest tribute to the man who wrote some of the most haunting lyrics ever heard. Rock fans will not be lost on the fact your head wont stop moving either. If you never seen Christian Death live, get this and light a candle then be prepared to have a dark and rocking evening.
