Many people have not adjusted their irrigation to the fall season and are still watering at summer settings. We have been getting calls for puddling and leaks when actually the ground is saturated. So we suggest lowering water time and number of days to water. This usually solves the problem. In addition, people are shutting down their irrigation systems and are waiting until the spring to deal with all the problems. We are slowing down now and there is not much of a wait time, so now is the perfect time to get your system ready for spring. The spring is prime time and we start getting very busy and there might be a wait time.

Tired of bending down and turning each station on and off with those manual irrigation valves? Let's make them automatic and let the timer do it.

The Problem: Their valve would not shut off and the water was always running. The diaphragm in the right photo had to be replaced several times due to sand and debris from the water supply keeping it from closing completely.
The Solution: We put in this filter system I to keep it clean and working properly. When that sand and debris starts clogging the filter, just twist and flush it clean.

The sprinklers were pouring water out all the time, which meant the valve was leaking through and not shutting off. We had to use a locator to find this valve box buried under 6 inches of soil and roots. We opened the box to find solid roots, as you can see the pile on the left. We tried to rebuild the valve see the second picture, only to find that did not work as there was a slight Crack in it. So. we had to dig it completely out and replace it. The third picture.

Spring is in the air, and a great way conserve water and those high water bills, is to take out sprinklers and put in Netafim. Netafim is that brown (copper colored) line that has built in emitters every foot, that put out a gallon of water every hour. We trench two inches deep, staple it down and cover it up, so the animals don't get it. Varmints don't like copper so they stay away from it too.
