๐ Calling All Schools, Cafeterias, Teachers, Parents, Nutrition Directors, Principals, and Superintendents!
Be part of Butte County history by joining the 1st Annual Butte-iful Farm to Cafeteria Initiative during California Farm to School Week, October 5โ9, 2026.
Together, we're inviting every school district in Butte County to feature one locally sourced fruit, vegetable, or protein each day in school cafeterias throughout the week.
This is more than a celebration of local foodโit's an opportunity to connect students with the farmers who grow their food, strengthen our local economy, and inspire healthier communities, one meal at a time.
Whether you're a classroom teacher, school nutrition professional, principal, superintendent, parent, or community partner, we invite you to help make this countywide effort a success.
We're proud to launch this initiative in partnership with:
๐ฑ North Valley Food Hub
๐ฑ Butte County Local Food Network
๐ฑ Gridley Unified School District Nutrition Services
๐ฑ Tending Terra
๐ฑ Butte Community Food Policy Council
Let's show what Butte County can accomplish when we work together to support local farmers and nourish the next generation.
If your school or district would like to participate, we'd love to hear from you!
Interested in participating but not sure where to source local products? We're here to help!

The students at Chico Child Development Center have been busy exploring the wonders of the garden!
This week, we learned all about butterfliesโtheir amazing life cycle, how they help pollinate flowers, and why they're so important to a healthy garden. Then, the children headed outside to discover something exciting growing in their very own school garden... pumpkins! ๐
There were lots of smiles as the students searched through the pumpkin patch, spotted growing pumpkins on the vines, and observed how much they've grown. These hands-on experiences help children connect classroom learning with the natural world while building curiosity and excitement about gardening.
Every visit to the garden is an opportunity to explore, discover, and grow. We can't wait to see what the students find next! ๐

๐ฅ๐ฑ That's a wrap for Chico Achieve! ๐ฑ๐ฅ
We had such a wonderful time wrapping up another season with the amazing students at Chico Achieve Charter School!
To celebrate, students harvested fresh cucumbers from the garden and got to try flash picklesโa quick and delicious way to enjoy the food they helped grow. There's nothing better than watching students harvest fresh produce with excitement and discover that healthy food can be fun and tasty!
Thank you to the students, teachers, and staff for another fantastic year of learning, growing, and exploring together. It has been a joy to watch the garden flourish alongside all of you.
We hope you have a safe, fun, and relaxing summer, and we can't wait to see everyone back in the garden next school year! ๐๐ป

๐จ๐ฑ That's a wrap for Paradise Achieve! ๐ฑ๐จ
We had so much fun wrapping up another wonderful season with the students at Paradise Achieve Charter School!
To celebrate, students painted colorful garden rocks, and they were a huge hit! Their creativity and imagination truly shined, and now their artwork has become a permanent part of the garden for everyone to enjoy.
We hope all of our returning students smile when they see their painted rocks next school year and remember all the fun they had learning, growing, and exploring in the garden. It's little touches like these that make the garden feel like a place they helped create.
Thank you to the amazing students, teachers, and staff for another fantastic year. We hope you all have a wonderful summer, and we can't wait to see everyone back in the garden next school year! ๐๐ป
