Gateway for Cancer Research
Shaping a world in which a cancer diagnosis is no longer feared.
More than 18 million Americans are cancer survivors today.
That’s 18 million stories of courage.
18 million reasons to keep pushing research forward.
18 million reminders that hope is more than a feeling,
it’s something we build through science.
At Gateway for Cancer Research, we’re working to create a future with more breakthroughs, more treatment options, and more survivors.

“Cancer’s enemy is an empowered patient.”
For Richard J Stephenson, Founder & Chairman of the Board, those words have guided Gateway’s mission from the very beginning.
Gateway was founded on the belief that patients deserve access to innovative clinical trials, groundbreaking research, and new possibilities for treatment. Because when patients are empowered with options, information, and hope, progress becomes possible.
Every study we fund, every researcher we support, and every patient we serve is part of that vision.

At Gateway for Cancer Research, we fund innovative clinical trials that bring new treatment options and new hope to people facing cancer.
Every breakthrough starts with research, but behind every breakthrough is something even more powerful: patients, families, researchers, and supporters working toward a common goal.
For more than 30 years, Gateway has been committed to funding research that moves promising discoveries from the lab to the patients who need them most.
Because every survivor, every milestone, and every life changed reminds us why we keep asking:
What more can we do?

Behind every conversation about cancer is someone's story, and in Nashville on May 28, we heard stories that will stay with us.
We joined our friends and generous supporters at Ceres Barge Line Ceres Consulting, LLC at the Inland Marine Expo at Music City Center, the annual trade show for the inland and intracoastal marine industry. And it was there that brief introductions turned into meaningful conversations about what cancer has meant in so many lives.
People shared stories of diagnosis, loved ones, hard-won survivorship, loss, HOPE, and gratitude. We know cancer touches every community, and those conversations were a powerful reminder of why patient-centered, innovative cancer research is so urgent.
We cannot thank Ceres enough, host of the Annual Pushing Hope Marine Industry Golf Charity Event, now celebrating its 10th year. Their commitment is extraordinary: Ceres covers 100% of event costs so that every dollar raised goes directly to cancer research. That kind of dedication is rare, and it means everything to the patients and families we serve.
We are honored to be the beneficiary for the second year and proud to stand alongside Ceres and the marine industry community as we continue pushing HOPE forward together. 💗

Memorial Day is, at its heart, a day of remembrance.
This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country, and we hold close the families who have spent every day since learning how to live with an absence that never fully goes away.
Loss changes us in ways we never expected. The people we love leave a mark on everything: the way we laugh, the songs we can't listen to anymore, the quiet moments when we turn to say something and remember all over again that they're gone. The don't truly leave, but they change form as we carry them differently than we used to.
Today is a day to say their names out loud, to sit with what they meant to us, and to honor not just how they died, but how fully they lived and how deeply they were loved.
We carry them us us today, and every single day.

Gateway for Cancer Research operates on a principle that should be standard — but isn't: 100% of every donated dollar goes directly to funding early-phase clinical trials. No overhead allocation. No administrative percentage. GuideStar Platinum Seal of Transparency. This is what accountable philanthropy looks like. 🔗 https://hubs.la/Q048FQXk0
