Doing our small part to promote democracy: Julie and I have been registering voters at DMV facilities in Milwaukee over the past month. The group we are working with has registered over 7,000 voters in the Milwaukee area since Jan. 1. Amazing!

To my Chicago area FB friends: please join me this Friday night for a free screening of my film, "Mikva! Democracy is Verb," at the University of Chicago's Max Palevsky Theater, 1212 E. 59th St. at 7:30.
The film tells the remarkable story of former Congressman, Federal Judge, White House counsel and Obama mentor Abner Mikva, including his epic battles with Chicago Machine and the NRA. This is the Hyde Park premiere of the film and we'll have a panel discussion led by journalist Phil Ponce.
The screening comes at a perfect time since Ab's legacy organization, the Mikva Challenge, is celebrating their 25th anniversary this year. Mikva Challenge is an antidote to our divisive times.
