The meditative quality of geometric patterns and shifting light has always been a source of calm and peace for me.

I’ve always been drawn to traditional art forms, not just for how they look, but for what they carry. There’s history, legacy, and a certain stillness within them.

This piece was inspired by the marble inlay technique in Mughal art and architecture.

There’s something incredibly timeless about pietra dura, a technique that doesn’t just decorate a surface, but becomes part of it.Also known as parchin kari in the Mughal world, this art form is rooted in the careful process of carving into marble and embedding precisely cut stones to create intricate designs.

This piece isn’t traditional marble inlay. But it’s my way of understanding it, translating it, and connecting with it in my own language.

I recently lost myself in the pages of The Glassmaker, a story that spans centuries of glass history. It reminded me that glass is more than just a surface; it is a living alchemy of earth and fire.

Before I painted a single stroke of the Alchemist Prism series, I spent days obsessed with the textures. I was so moved by the way the book describes the beauty of gold leaf being infused into the glass. It was the description of the glass beads that really stayed with me. They were so small, yet they held so much detail and meaning.

It inspired me to scale down, to see if I could take the same techniques I use for my large paintings and distill them into these miniature vessels of art.

Each piece in this series is a tiny sanctuary, a modern tribute to that ancient craft.

It’s all in the details: Metallic and meticulous.
