It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Brother Patrick Martin, who served on the Brother Rice faculty from 1994 to 2009. Brother Martin passed away on June 21 after a long illness. He was 71 years old.
A math and religion teacher, director of the APEX program, and one of the founders of the Edmund Rice Camp at Rice, Brother Martin gave 15 years of his life to this school and left a lasting mark on every student he taught and every program he helped build.
An Edmund Rice Christian for 51 years, Brother Martin dedicated his life to Catholic education, serving students in California, Washington State, Arizona, Michigan, New York, and across the Chicago area at Leo High School, St. Laurence High School, and Brother Rice.
We are grateful for his life, his faith, and his service. May he rest in the peace of the God he spent a lifetime serving.

Last week we hosted one of our favorite groups on campus. Edmund Rice camp is a yearly summer camp where our Crusader Counselors and some of our faculty share their time to get kids outside and active. Thank you to all our students who volunteered a week of their summer as well as our faculty members who helped out.

Happy Father's Day from Brother Rice!
Today we are taking a look back at the Brother Rice Dads Club through the years — a tradition of fathers showing up, getting involved, and building the same brotherhood they hope their sons carry with them for life.
To every dad, grandfather, and father figure in our Brother Rice family, past and present, thank you for everything you do. We hope you have a blessed and well deserved day.

Today, we honor Juneteenth and the long journey toward freedom and equality in our nation's history.
As a Catholic community rooted in the mission of Blessed Edmund Rice, Brother Rice believes in the dignity of every person and the importance of standing in solidarity with all who continue to fight for justice and equality.
We reflect today, and we recommit ourselves to building a community that lives out that belief every day, on and off campus.
