ars, professors, young professionals and European policy-makers who are united by their commitment to the European ideal. Research cohorts are working groups that collectively form the academic branch of EUChicago. Each research cohort will be led by one to two students who have drafted a proposal for investigating a given topic related to EU or transatlantic affairs. Cohorts meet once a week to discuss readings, which will initially be suggested at the discretion of the research leaders. The timing of these weekly meetings will be determined after assignments have been made, so as to accommodate for all interested members' schedules. By the end of the first quarter, each group will have worked to co-publish an article related to their topic. After that, cohorts will progress towards longer-term goals to be completed at the end of the year. These may include publishing original research in academic journals or presenting cohort findings to members of the university faculty at a joint EUChicago event. Research papers on transatlantic affairs may be submitted to European Horizons’ “Policy Perspective”, which will work with the official European Parliament Research Service. Other publishing opportunities include the Huffington Post or Politico page for our national organization, European Horizons, and, soon, an EUChicago page on student-run political blog The Gate's website.
