Nicholas Cade for Cook County
From Military Service to Classrooms to Climate Solutions - Nick Gets Things Done.
I am immeasurably grateful to those who supported this campaign. It’s been an honor to have your support, and I’m proud of our work fighting for an agenda focused on economic opportunity, growth, housing and development, and transparency in local government. I believe that these are the right priorities for Cook County and will continue to fight for them with urgency and commitment.
Congratulations to Commissioner Jessica Vasquez on her Primary victory. I wish her complete success in the general election in November and in serving the residents of the 8th District on the Cook County Board of Commissioners.

Grateful to have earned an endorsement from the Chicago New Liberals. See what they had to say: “we prioritized pragmatic, thoughtful leaders who we believe can help lead Chicago out of its current fiscal crisis. We also believe it is important to push back against the powerful
political interests and entrenched groups whose short-sighted decisions have created the city’s
financial crisis.”
We need more housing in Cook County. As County Commissioner, making housing of all types easier to build and easier to afford will be my priority.

I’m proud to be recognized as a 2026 Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate in my race for Cook County Commissioner. Communities thrive when our families and friends feel safe in their neighborhoods. Building a safer community requires investment in community resources and prevention as well as holding bad actors accountable - and in all respects doing everything we can to aggressively curb gun violence. As a veteran and as a father, this issue is personal to me.

Cook County needs to prepare for a changing climate. That means addressing current vulnerabilities like flood-prone neighborhoods, but also making smart investments in sustainable housing and infrastructure to prepare for what’s to come - including population increases in Cook County from people leaving places likely to be impacted.
These are some of the books that changed my way of thinking about climate change, and led me to work on environmental projects that permanently destroy or mitigate super pollutants. I’m proud of that work, and it shapes how I see both the challenges and the opportunities ahead.

I’m honored to be included as an endorsed candidate in A City That Works’ Guide to the 2026 March Primaries.
A strong national security policy leads with good faith diplomacy first. Using force as anything other than a last resort only undermines our credibility and our security.

Expand housing. Deliver property tax relief. Invest in resilient infrastructure. Cut red tape. Protect our forest preserves. Prepare for a changing climate.
That’s how we build a county government that works for you.

Cook County deserves a leader who understands what’s ahead and has the vision to prepare for it. That means focusing on economic opportunity, affordability and smart growth: investments in housing, public transit, sustainable infrastructure, and accessible green spaces.
