Talking Time Travel at DePaul POP! Today.

Had another fun year at CODcon at College of DuPage. CODcon was the second con I ever vended at. So wonderful to see friends and play games. At the vendor tables I played Munchkin, Pandemic, King of Tokyo and Dragonwood. After hours I played Blood on the Clocktower and furthered my realization that I don’t like social deduction games.

Dungeons & Dragons Scraps Plans to Update Its Open Game License In a surprise statement today, Kyle Brink announced that Wizards of the Coast will preserve the OGL 1.0a and move more of D&D into the Creative Commons.

The process of changing my shop name, logo, listings and pictures has begun. I am opening a new online store on GoImagine.

So another season of Youth Dungeons and Dragons is about to end. I thought I might share a few of the hilarious stuff I’ve experienced as a youth DM this season.

One kid played a Warforged Toaster named Egg O’Teost. He would intimidate people by threatening to toast them or their stuff.

One kid played a tiefling bard child that had no arms and was named Kibble. They controlled their lute with telekinesis and would use it as a weapon by whacking monsters with it.

One kid was a monk named Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting. And yes I said that every single time I talked to his character and told him it was his turn.

One player could spawn small creatures made of cheese. They were called Cheddas that would cause chaos. We used an image of the Adipose from Doctor Who for the Cheddas.

One group found an outdoor all vegan diner run by satrys. While eating a group of Shambling Mounds (plant monsters) attacked. They were wearing tees that said ‘Eat an Animal, Save a Plant’.

One group stole a boat and then painted it with glitter.

I plan to attend next year!

Friends, Fans, Colleagues, World

I regret to inform you that a great light in the firmament no longer shines for us as it has for so many years.

Last night, my mother, Nichelle Nichols, succumbed to natural causes and passed away. Her light however, like the ancient galaxies now being seen for the first time, will remain for us and future generations to enjoy, learn from, and draw inspiration.

Hers was a life well lived and as such a model for us all.

I, and the rest of our family, would appreciate your patience and forbearance as we grieve her loss until we can recover sufficiently to speak further. Her services will be for family members and the closest of her friends and we request that her and our privacy be respected.

JKR recently sent out a new veiled anti-trans tweet, however this time she included an image of the Manx flag 🇮🇲. Using its 3 legs to signify the people trying to claim a third gender. I am of Manx ancestry and a trans ally. I was already planning to distance my small craft business form the HP fandom, because of the veiled but repeated anti-trans comments from her. I will now be upping that timeframe.

The new name of Owl Post will be ManxMargie. I am working on a new logo, shop name change with Etsy and with my website.
