Today, I stood with neighbors, families, and community leaders because we believe in something fundamental: our government belongs to the people.

Not to special interests. Not to billionaires. Not to any one individual.

Across this country, people are speaking up because they see what’s at stake. When power becomes concentrated and voices are pushed aside, it’s our responsibility to step forward.

That’s what today is about.

For me, this is not new. For 19 years, I’ve stood up to powerful interests and delivered for our communities. And after this primary, we proved something important. This campaign is not owned by super PACs. It’s powered by people.

But the work is not done.

We have to stay alert. We have to stay engaged. And we have to vote in November.

That’s how we send a clear message to the White House. With our voice. With our vote.

That’s the independence I will take to Congress.

We answer to the people. Always.
