Daniel Johnston recorded his songs on a boombox and handed the tapes to strangers at the McDonald’s drive-thru where he worked. His art is as raw as his music. You’ve seen the frog. Maybe on a shirt, maybe on a flyer, maybe on Cobain.
The book “I’m Afraid of What I Might Draw” is the most complete collection of his art ever published, and is back in stock. Drawings, comics, and the story behind a following that reached Tom Waits, Beck, and beyond.
Local favs Friko came by the shop to play “Choo Choo” off their excellent new record “Something Worth Waiting For.” They talked about the inspiration behind the song and broke down how to play both guitar parts.
