We took a much needed break this week in Eagle River Wisconsin. Lots of outdoor activities, not much screen time, and I enjoyed every moment of it. The kids enjoyed the change of pace as well.
Evelyn Lauer finds the best places to go and this was no exception. We were even able to bring our dog!
The crazy thing about the trip is we thought our 11 year old dog was slowing down this year with shorter walks and less enthusiasm. It turns out he was getting tired of his routine at home. He had more energy on this trip than I’ve seen in years!

Getting top dollar for your home is not about luck or a hot market. It’s about what you do before the listing ever goes live.
Here’s what the sellers who walk away happy consistently do differently.
Some homes are tired. You’ll often hear they have “good bones” but they will need some time, money, and some love.
Homes that are for sale due to the present owners downsizing have proven to be amazing for those who lived there previously and will continue to do so for the future owners due to the love and care they’ve received.
Flipped houses, when done properly, can great homes but always watch out for shortcuts, build and material quality, and general maintenance items.

Before listing a home, sellers often ask the same question:
“What should we update before we go on the market?”
The answer usually isn’t a major renovation.
Most of the time, we focus on a few strategic updates that make the home feel fresh, bright, and move-in ready for buyers.
The three we almost always look at first:
• fresh paint
• updated lighting
• curb appeal
These small improvements can make a big difference in how buyers experience your home — both online and in person.
