The hardest part of move-in day isn’t what parents carry in. It’s what they leave behind.
It’s a day filled with mixed emotions: excitement, stress, pride, happiness, and a little sadness, too. Parents spend months preparing for this moment. Shopping lists. Packing boxes. Last-minute Target runs.
But the hardest part isn’t moving everything in. It’s letting go.
During freshman move-in at Indiana University, the University of Michigan and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, we set out to make the day a little easier.
We hit the streets with branded trucks and wagons to deliver complimentary move-in starter kits with a few hand-picked dorm room essentials, helping check a few items off the list so parents and students could spend more time on what matters most: those final moments together before saying goodbye.
This was about more than free snacks and cleaning supplies. It was our way of saying: We’ve Got You.

Introducing our 2026 new developments.
This summer, we welcomed six new Hub on Campus communities and 6,000 new beds to our growing portfolio:

For 10 weeks, our interns jumped in, made meaningful contributions, and brought incredible energy to teams across Core. Along the way, they learned, connected, challenged themselves, and created memories that will last well beyond the summer.

We recently topped out at Hub Knoxville 18th, our second community along Cumberland Avenue near the University of Tennessee.
Delivering in 2027, Hub Knoxville 18th will bring 215 units and 770 beds to UT students, with floor plans ranging from studios to five-bedrooms and unique townhome-styles (the first to hit the Strip).
Joining our first Knoxville community, which introduced nearly 2,000 beds to the market, Hub Knoxville 18th will offer a more boutique-inspired take on our signature Hub lifestyle with a more intimate scale and retreat-inspired residential experience.
