Good time with guest fellow Lumpen Radio DJ Jimmy Kaps catching up and playing tracks for each other. He brought some primo favorites to play. We both expressed our fondness for the band Metro Area when Jimmy played a pair of their killer tracks.
He talked about the first time he heard techno in Greece and turned me on to a highly potent track by Technasia.
Glenn played for Jimmy a couple of deep cut vinyl bangers from Chicago’s Wax Trax! label
along with an early creative gem from 1970 Kraftwerk called Ruckzack.
Jim shared tracks by:
Barry De Vorzon, New Order, Talking Heads, Ben E. King, Montana, Metro Area, Technasia, Tom Noble & Harvey Sutherland, and Kelli Hand
Glenn played records by:
Lake, PTP, The Molotovs, Pablo Cruise, Liaisons Dangereuses, Kraftwerk, Coil, Gang of Four, 808 State, DJ Punk-Roc, and Goldfrapp
Our next show will be Wednesday March 25th with my guest Mike Valdez

Here is the recording of Episode #233 of InbetweenRadio/Stations with guest Chicago DJ Karen Wehrle, recorded and broadcast live Wednesday12/10/25 on 105.5 FM Lumpen radio.

Had a great time with Karen talking about Celtic Connections music festival, and playing records by the bands she saw at that event. She played a cool track by BMX Bandits, a band made up of 2 members of Teenage fans club and 2 parts Soup Dragons. I played an old Soup Dragons 12inch later in the show.

We touch on finding cool records at the merch table. Karen played a super cool Port Sulphur (great band) track from their latest LP called Mela Guru.

Our track selections seemed to fuse together surprisingly well.
Karen has a seasoned musical ear for finding new treasures.
It was a delight to sit down at the turntables and spin the gold she collected from her recent overseas trips to see the bands she plays.

Karen played tracks by:
Helen McCookery Book, Go-kart Mozart, Edwyn Collins, Carwyn Ellis and Rio 18 with the BBC Orchestra, The long Decline, V-Twin, Pale Lights, Chime School, Jonny, Port Sulfur, Future Pilot A.K.A., Francis Macdonald, and BMX Bandits

Glenn Shared records by:
Elvis Costello, Colin Blunstone, Alfred Numan, James Blake, Belle and Sebastion, Fountains of Wayne, Soul Coughing, Eric Carmen, Aztec Camera, The New America Orchestra, Wings, and the Soup Dragons.

The next show will be Wednesday December 24th with me playing a special evening DJ set designed to soundtrack your Christmas Eve gathering. Played live from vinyl and contains No holiday songs, Just cool tracks for cool cats.

Here is the recording of Episode #228 of InbetweenRadio/Stations with guest David Suycott recorded and broadcast live Wednesday 09/24/25 on 105.5 FM Lumpen radio.

Really a fun time Wednesday night getting to know David who is a well established drummer and Musician.
We hit the ground running talking preshow about the creative process and about his drumming beyond a typical drum kit.
By the time the show started we were vibing in the same lane.

David has such a passion for the music he creates.
His enthusiasm for creating new music is both refreshing and inspiring. Very cool dude!

We talked quite a bit on air about a variety of different types of music and played some great tracks.
The most interesting tracks in my humble opinion were by The Temporarily Hidden, and Sycot Motion. Both projects David plays on.

Glenn Shared records by:
The Damned, The Buzzcocks, Led Zeppelin, Jef beck and Jan Hammer, A Certain Ratio, Konk, and Underworld

David played tracks by:
Ministry, Japan, Return to forever, Herbie Hancock, The Temporarily Hidden, and Sycot Motion

Tonight tonight!

Please join us for the next episode of InbetweenRadio/Stations on Wednesday, February 26th @ 8 pm CST.
Episode #215
My guest will be VJ Leroy Fields.
I met Leroy at Medusa when he was playing videos that really made a giant sound in that huge room.
Now thanks to him, there are certain songs when I hear them take me back to those nights and early mornings with a million people who came to dance.
I look forward to having him on the show playing some of his favorite records and talking about all his musical endeavors.
I have a nice pile of songs to share with Leroy.
This should be a fun time.
