Community Youth Development Institute - CYDI
Community Youth Development Institute exists to prepare our students to be productive members of society. CYDI operates as a caring school.
We build positive relationships with students to enable learning byaddressing student barriers. This model encourages a supportive and caring environment for all students to learn. We address the moral, social emotional, and personal issues in studentsβ lives to address problems, nurture individuals, and facilitate the process of learning. The school is structured to not only to teach effectively,
Meet Jakyra Hill, CYDI volleyball player.
This is her first season playing volleyball. Last basketball season taught her movement and positioning.
Volleyball taught her something different.
"Everybody comes to practice confident. Everybody acts like they want to play. Nothing can beat that. Volleyball taught me about teamwork. When you come together, everything works out right."
What it takes to win a championship is confidence and positivity and staying focused and being consistent.
That's the recipe.
That's the culture at CYDI.
Join us. Learn. Compete. Become part of something.

People sleep on archery. CYDI doesn't.
Did you know that Stanford, Yale, and Harvard offer full 4-year scholarships for archery? Most students, especially our Brown kids, never get those opportunities because they've never picked up a bow. CYDI is changing that.
Meet Cynthia Hearn, who brought archery to our students as a pathway to scholarships and opportunities most high schoolers don't even know exist. And meet Laroymel Evans, one of our students who jumped in headfirst because that's what he does.
"People be sleeping on archery for real. It's something fun to do. You get the right people around you and the right teacher, it'd be more enthusiastic and just exciting."
But don't let the fun fool you. Archery demands serious focus, stamina, and the discipline to repeat the same precise motion every single time. Students pick up the bow thinking it's easy, until they feel the weight in their hands and realize how much mental and physical control it takes.
That's the beauty of it. A sport that looks simple teaches some of the hardest lessons: patience, consistency, and focus under pressure.
At CYDI, we don't just offer traditional sports. We open doors to opportunities our students didn't even know were there.
Enroll now and give your student access to pathways others overlook.

Meet Xaviana Williams, a CYDI student who came for the education and found a whole new world of possibilities.
When Xaviana first arrived at CYDI, she didn't expect the school to help students find jobs and plan for life after graduation, college prep, career connections, all of it. That surprised her. What surprised her even more? Falling in love with gardening.
Before CYDI, Xaviana had zero interest in it. Didn't know a thing about it. But through the school's garden program, where students plant fruits, vegetables, and flowers, she discovered something new about herself. Now she knows the steps, the process, and the patience it takes to grow something from the ground up.
And speaking of growing, Xaviana's been getting her grades up and passing her classes, and that's the moment she says she felt the most proud.
Oh, and did we mention she's on the softball team? 4-0. Undefeated.
In Xaviana's own words: "Amazing school. You can graduate faster, get your credits, work is very easy understanding, and staff can help you."
That's CYDI. A school that meets students where they are and takes them further than they imagined.
Enroll now and let your student discover what they're capable of.

Meet Emmanuel Marsh, a CYDI student who's building, coding, and problem-solving his way into the future.
In his computer science course, Emmanuel is doing more than just learning theory, he's building and animating a robotic car from the ground up using specialized software. Putting the physical pieces together? That was the easy part. The real challenge came with the programming.
Getting the car to navigate obstacles correctly meant testing, adjusting, retesting, and adjusting again. Every small tweak mattered. Every failed attempt taught him something new. And that's exactly where the growth happens, in the trial and error.
For Emmanuel, the satisfaction of finally getting it right is what makes it all worth it. And he knows those problem-solving skills aren't just for the classroom, they're the same skills that open doors in tech careers and beyond.
At CYDI, we don't just teach students about technology, we put it in their hands and let them build their future with it.
Enroll now and give your student real-world tech experience.
