I will never betray my heart. This was from my interview for the Chicago tribune by and manifestation works better with ink. I have been in the studio since a week working on a soul rnb project and the whole time I’ve been working on the beautiful organ B3 was use by the Great D’Angelo. His passing really showed me people of my tribe ,to everyone that made a post now I know why we are connected. It’s wonderful to read all these testimonies knowing that I wasn’t alone. D’Angelo music found me in Dakar Senegal in 1996 I was young and lost in an age where violence was everywhere in the city. There is a story I was ashamed to share but idc anymore. Me and two friends were arrested for some bu****it we spent 48 hours in the cell. The next morning we got up banging a beat on the cell door singing “Sh*t Damn Motherf**ker” by D’Angelo, one cop came and listened and he said “you guys have talent, you should start a band instead of thuggin out in the streets” literally that guy knew my future. It was later after 5 years I got into music after years of denial. This was in Senegal the bottom line is that music has no border and D’Angelo is being celebrated and mourned all around the world. When they asked me what brought me to Chicago my first answer is always Music. Now yes I’m back in the studio and I’m going make that fu***ng album.
