The addictive experience according to our Director, Terry London. Notice that we do NOT use the term โ€œdiseaseโ€ when referring to the addictive experience. This is because, in the words of Terry:

โ€œCan you think your way out of Leukemia? Can you think your way out of Kidney Disease? No, because those are actual diseases. But, can you think your way out of making addictive choices? People do it everyday!โ€

What are your thoughts?

One of the most difficult issues to face in life is anxiety about death (not to be confused with fear of death, which is rational). Feeling anxious about our impending death does nothing to help us appreciate the fact that weโ€™re alive now, does nothing to prevent our deaths, and moreover usually leads us to take our time for granted by worrying about the future while wasting the present. Of course, we prefer to keep living. Of course, we fear things that could end our lives or cause us bodily harm. But short of that, thereโ€™s no rational reason to dwell on the fact that we will all someday die.

You can do your best to avoid risky or fatal situations. You can make healthy choices to increase your chances of a longer life. But, itโ€™s highly advisable to not get bogged down by the thought of death. As the quote below states โ€œdeath, a necessary end, will come when it will come.โ€ Enjoy your life while you have it!
