Patient Safety Day happens next Sunday. The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) kindly invited me to contribute a blog post in honor of Patient Safety Day 2023. I hope we motivate change and help more patients be heard!

Banning Patients for Being “Unprofessional” Is a Safety Risk Health care staff must be protected from patients who harm or threaten harm. Patients should not, however, be held to a “professional” level of interaction with staff.
