I’ll be at this weekend! Very excited for the opportunity to guest outside the Chicagoland area for the first time. I’ll be presenting a new panel all about stretch fabrics on Sunday and judging the contest on Saturday! Come say hi to me, .so.cosplay, and 🕺🏼

I haven’t worn either of my cosplays to a convention before 🤯 I made Starlight a few years ago but changed my plans at the last minute. Don’t give me spoilers yet but I’ll be ready to talk about The Boys by this weekend!

Full try-on of my [almost] done cosplay! Some small adjustments to make for fit and I just need to spend the next few days painting my sword and dagger and finishing the cuffs on my boots 🙂

I have never weathered something I made completely from scratch before and it hurt my soul BUT GOSH it looks so cool and realistic now. Weathering makes all the difference!! Before it, I was looking like a cartoon character. Plus I love how weathering can bring out your seams and highlight your hard work sewing.

Having fun with the small details. I bought an embroidery machine last summer and FINALLY busted it out. It’s been an interesting learning curve, all of this is far from perfect but it’s been great practice. I’m getting close to finishing my Shay coat and I’m excited to weather it!

BIG OLE WORK IN PROGRESS DUMP

There are 3 cosplays in the works in these pics. I made a quick Mira cosplay last summer, but I’ve been wanting to make some boots and upgrade other pieces like the skirt. I made gloves as well using stones and vinyl already in my stash. They’re not super accurate, but I think they look really cool!

I always love bringing a new wrestling cosplay to the meetup every year at ACEN, so there’s a couple pics of the one I’m doing this year 🕷️🤫 To be honest, I’m really burnt out on wrestling cosplay. I’m excited for this one but then I need a break from all the spandex lol

My next big cosplay underway is Shay Cormac. I knew my Ospreay cosplay would be a gateway into actual Assassin’s Creed cosplay lmao but I just think Shay has the coolest fit of the whole series and his coat is right up my alley. I’m trying to finish it before I guest at quad cities comic con at the end of this month, and I’m not sure I’ll get it done by then. We’ll see!! It’s coming together really well even if it doesn’t look like much. The major piece is the coat, and then I really just need to assemble a lot of belts and slap on a lot of props.
SO YEAH, it’s been a lot of work. It just happened that every event is taking place this month lol
