When floods, wildfires, storms, and other disasters strike, animals are often the forgotten victims. But pets are not possessions to leave behind—they are family.

Dogs, cats, birds, horses, farm animals, rescue pets, senior companions, and even frightened strays all depend on us for their safety. During an emergency, they need the same essentials as we do: safe evacuation, shelter, food, clean water, and medical care.

No family should ever be forced to choose between their own safety and the life of a beloved animal.

Every pet parent, animal rescuer, shelter volunteer, and animal lover understands this simple truth: a truly effective emergency plan protects every member of the family—including those with paws, claws, feathers, and hooves.

If we plan for people, we should plan for the animals who trust us with their lives.
