🚨 More than 500 Rohingya feared dead at sea 🌊💔
More than 500 people, believed to be predominantly Rohingya refugees, are feared to have died after two boats reportedly disappeared or sank off Burma’s coast in late June and early July.
⚠️ The boats were carrying people fleeing conflict, persecution, and a deepening humanitarian crisis in Rakhine State, including refugees who had left camps in Bangladesh.
🌧️ With rough monsoon seas making the journey even more dangerous, this tragedy is a devastating reminder that Rohingya families continue to risk everything in search of safety.
🚨🇧🇩 At least 9 people have been killed after relentless monsoon rains triggered deadly floods and landslides in and around the Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar.
Among the dead are 8 Rohingya refugees, including women and children. Thousands remain at risk as shelters are destroyed, families are displaced, and more heavy rain threatens further tragedy. 🌧️⛺💔
🚨🇲🇲 Myanmar’s military has intensified its airstrikes across northern Rakhine, leaving civilians living in constant fear.
✈️ On July 2, military aircraft reportedly carried out multiple airstrikes across Maungdaw and Buthidaung, dropping more than 10 bombs near Kyin Chaung and launching additional strikes on several villages later that afternoon.
💥 These attacks came just one day after heavy bombardments on July 1, when more than 10 bombs were reportedly dropped across Maungdaw, while separate airstrikes in Buthidaung injured at least three civilians.
📅 Earlier, on June 24, another airstrike near the Maungdaw border reportedly wounded two women.
😢 “People are living in fear… the attacks have become a daily concern for civilians,” one resident said.
⚠️ Casualties from the latest strikes are still being verified as access to the affected areas remains heavily restricted.
