Palenque LSNA
Liberating Spaces through Neighborhood Action Logan Square Neighborhood Association (LSNA) is now Palenque LSNA!

Logan Square Neighborhood Association began as a committed group of neighbors motivated by the emergence of community redlining. Today, we are Palenque LSNA, a multi-issue community organization, directly serving more than 6,500 residents and impacting tens of thousands more through nationally-recognized issue campaigns and programs. Between actions days at the capitol, campaigns, press conferences, letter writing, and general advocacy community made sure our leaders heard our voices loud and clear! Here our highlights and takeaways from the FY27 IL State Budget that our team worked for.

Palenque LSNA staff and our partners fought hard this budget season to push for progressive revenue solutions to better support our communities across Chicago and all of IL. There were some great successes and some areas where the work is moving into a new phase of efforts.

Our parents, teachers, students, youth, and community leaders are making their voices heard. This week, they wrote and delivered 150 letters to our local state elected officials urging them to pass a budget that puts people first, not billionaires, not corporations, and not special interests.

Our communities deserve fully funded schools, accessible healthcare, safe neighborhoods, youth opportunities, and the resources we need to thrive.

A budget is a reflection of our values. We are calling on our elected officials to choose working families over the ultra-wealthy.
