2025 Chicago Marathon ☑️

and I spent a big part of our childhood in Chicago, so running through those streets yesterday together was special. We raised over $16,000 for Type 1 Diabetes (I’m sick of having it) as part of my bigger mission to run all of the world major marathons and raise $250k toward a cure. 3 races down, 4 more to go. And the cure is in sight, with some incredible innovation in human trials.

Thanks to everyone supporting us along, and special thanks to for running (and working) side by side with me for every step, and to for cheering and dedicating so much to me and T1D. ❤️

29,029 feet up. ⛰️

Last weekend was my second time “Everesting” with - and my first time enjoying it 😜 This challenge isn’t necessarily about getting the red hat for climbing 29k of elevation gain in < 36 hours. It’s about who you need to become in the process of training for it.

The discipline, the schedule, the routine, the early morning hours before the family wakes up and the workday begins. The nutrition, the education, the strategy.

Events like this push your limits, but if you train right, your limits are higher than you could ever imagine.

So this time I had fun. I trained, I executed, I enjoyed. Might even do it again 🙌

Before Trainual, I used to work 1:1 with founders behind the scenes in their businesses and lives, and I loved it. I know Trainual has worldwide impact, but I miss the DIRECT impact, connection, and results that I could see when I worked with someone month to month.

I’ve talked to 150+ investment firms and 500+ investors since starting . 3 firms invested. Sometimes it’s about raising money, and sometimes it’s about getting advice.

Regardless of whether you ever want to raise money for your business, I think every entrepreneur should talk to investors.

Feedback from smart outsiders is priceless. And, it’s free. You can’t get better if you don’t get tough feedback.

The intersection of business and fun is a great place to be. Call it intention, call it manifesting, call it whatever, but I just like knowing that 10 year old me would look at 40 year old me and think - “That’s SO cool!”

I may not have made the NBA but I did find a way to get them to write me a check, even if I had to make my own jersey and rent the court for private events 😜.

The and are a fantastic organization, and it’s so fun to have them as a customer and a partner.

Make business fun! That’s what it’s about.

In 2018 I joined a startup mastermind, and me and stayed up all night dreaming about our businesses.

7 years and a successful exit later, he and his wife built their dream restaurant. From seeing the initial business plan and renderings last year to eating there in person this morning, I’m constantly amazed with your ability to bring vision to life, Mike!

Congrats Mike and Amber! Beautiful space and I’ll be a regular.

A little more comfortable in year 2…

HBS OPM Owner/President program has been an amazing experience. So grateful for everyone here and everything that I’ve been soaking in.

Year 1 was getting my bearings, meeting my classmates.

Year 2 has been deepening of relationships and more focused insights.

Excited to see what year 3 brings!

HBS life. Lots of classes, lots of classy people! Week 1 in the books.

When I came up with Trainual (training+manual) I was combining all sorts of words to see what worked. I also grabbed Sprocesses (systems+processes).

Years later, my brother (and Trainual’s co-founder) had an idea... that sort of sounds like a Dr. Seuss word. Let’s make a children’s book!!! 💡

Why don’t we learn earlier about creating systems? Kids are taught repeatedly how to memorize facts and do work... they should be taught to delegate. They should be taught to develop strategies for being more efficient. For leveraging the help of others. That’s how businesses work.

This book, Sprocesses, breaches that topic, in the fun story of a little Hamster named Teri 🐹 (fun fact, Teri is also the name of our late grandmother on my mom’s side 💜).

Spoiler alert, but the hamster wheel opens to a ladder and Teri breaks through that glass ceiling.

So, if you believe in systems & processes, go search “Sprocesses” on Amazon and buy a copy (or five 😁). Drop them off at your local elementary schools. Read them to your kids. Gift them to nieces and nephews.

The world could use more Sprocesses. Congrats Jonathan for bringing this to life, it’s SO well done!!!
